If you find yourself wandering through Hiroshima, make sure to take a delightful pause at Backen Mozart Cafe, an enchanting spot nestled in the heart of the city's Naka Ward. This charming cafe, located just a stone's throw from the Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Museum, is not just a place for coffee; it’s an experience that beautifully combines taste, ambiance, and a touch of local flair.

With large windows flooding the space with natural light, the interior is a soothing blend of modern and classic styles, making it a perfect backdrop for casual meet-ups or peaceful reflections over your favorite beverage. Customers often rave about the bright atmosphere, which is both inviting and inspiring, ideal for those looking to relax or recharge.

The menu at Backen Mozart Cafe features a delicious array of offerings that cater to diverse palates. The standout favorites include their iced coffee and lemon pie, loved for their refreshing flavors, making them perfect companions on a warm day. However, be prepared for a bit of a splurge as the prices reflect its prime location within a hub for international conferences. Nevertheless, guests often agree it’s worth every yen for the quality and experience provided.

Vegetarian options are present, including sandwiches that may not suit all tastes due to the occasional heavy hand on the mayo, as noted by one reviewer. If you're striving for something lighter, consider the matcha latte—though be mindful to request it without excess ice for the ideal balance. Additionally, while the snacks may have varied in appeal, plenty of patrons have found joy in exploring the drink offerings, with one customer noting, “The drinks are great!” which resonates well for any café enthusiast.

The service here is generally praised, though some guests have noted that efficiency could use a slight polish. Still, the friendly demeanor of the staff tends to enhance the overall experience, leaving visitors with warm impressions each time they step through the door.

In summary, Backen Mozart Cafe isn’t just a pit stop; it’s a nurturing environment where you can savor comforting drinks and connect with friends or simply enjoy a moment of tranquility amidst the vibrant city life of Hiroshima. Whether you’re visiting the nearby museum or just in the mood for a casual bite, this cafe is a delightful way to enhance your journey in the city.

The brunch set was pretty good, but the sandwiches had too much mayo and overall a bit pricey. The matcha latte was a hit but had too much ice. If you want ketchup it’s an extra ¥50

The iced coffee and the lemon pie were delicious, even though pricey (justified, as it located on the same building where international conferences are held in Hiroshima). The ambience is excellent and the service very good, however it could be more efficient. Overall, a great experience.

Nice place for a coffee stop during a visit to the Hiroshima Atomic Bomb Museum, just a few minutes walk away. The interior is very beautiful, lots of light coming in through big windows. The staff are also very nice. I ordered the menu with Matcha tea and a snack for 800¥. The tea was okay but a little clumpy towards the end. The snack was very disappointing. Just a block of cream cheese, some azuki bean paste and a maple leaf shaped “waffle cone”. I was expecting Hiroshima momiji manju from the picture, so I was pretty disappointed.

I love this place. I use it to meet with my Legacy Successor friends as it is conveniently located within the peace museum complex. The drinks are great!!

This place was worthwhile to eat during off hours (3:30pm). It's a bit pricey but the food was tasty (specially the beef curry)
